Routine is For…

Routine is for the simple-minded,

For those who don’t know where they’re going.

For those who look but cannot find it,

And for those who don’t know what they’re doing.

Routine is for the weak of heart,

For those who don’t know where to start.

For those who stay silent but do not know it,

And for those who don’t know their own part.

I abhor routine with its one track mind

Cause I stand still not knowing what I’ll find.

But I also know that I can’t avoid it

As much as it clings to me and as much as it’s a bind.

Routine is unavoidable when you start your life,

But to me, routine, will always be just another strife.
