What Matters

Writers only need to know

What matters at that time,

What matters to the story,

What matches with the rhyme.

Every other little thing does not

Really have a meaning.

All of it is worth only

What matters to my breathing.

Science does not matter if

It has nothing to do with

The subject matter of my life,

My story or my myth.

At the moment, it matters not

If it doesn’t match my reality.

Mathematics is a waste of time

As is the world of philosophy.

I know what I know,

I see what I see,

But everything else

Doesn’t matter to me.
